About the Presenter:
DEBRA SYNATSCHK is the former Curriculum Director, PreK-12, at Greenwood ISD in Midland, Texas.
She has served as adjunct professor for Midland College and taught Dual Credit American History to the students of Greenwood High School.
During her 30 years in education, Debra has taught 5-11 grade history, math, and reading, as well as gifted and talented classes.

Session 1: Deconstructing Assessments
- Analyzing assessment items to determine the cognitive thinking required to solve them.
- Analyzing distracters on multiple choice items to determine diagnose misconceptions.
Session 2: Effective Grading Practices
- Identifying effective grading practices to increase student achievement.
- Analyzing the use of zeros in the grading systems.
